The Loom and Leaf mattress may be the sister-brand to one of the veterans of the web mattress world, Saatva. Loom Leaf launched in 2015, looking to provide a luxury-level high-density foam mattress that’d you’d usually pay $3-5K for in-shop, for a fraction of this price.
Over the last year or two, I’ve had plenty of time to check, analyze, and gather opinions from my visitors on the Loom & Leaf. Could it be as good as the saying goes?
Read on below for my complete review of the Loom and Leaf mattress.

The Loom & Leaf mattress is made of 4 different layers. At 12″ high the Loom & Leaf is usually a bit thicker compared to the regular 10″ mattress. This added thickness increases great deep compression support, durability, and feel.
The top layer (cooling + comfort and ease) – 2.0″ of high-quality conforming gel foam. The gel is infused with a “gel-swirl” building technique. This helps to ensure the gel is evenly dispersed and penetrates the whole thickness of the foam. All that said, what makes this layer unique may be the cooling gel spinal panel. This panel can be laminated onto the very best of the foam coating and adds an unbelievable level of cooling. Finally, this layer is convoluted, indicating it has air flow channels cut into the foam. This helps air flow easily and further enhances cooling. This layer includes a density of 4.0 PCF (pounds per cubic foot).
The second layer (comfort) – 2.5″ of visco-elastic foam. It functions as the very best layer of foam to provide great convenience, contouring, and a way of measuring support as well. This layer includes a density of 5.0 PCF.
The third level (transitional support) – 2.0″ transition loft pad. This coating works with both support base and ease and comfort layers on top to greatly help create appropriate transitional support for people who sleep.
The bottom layer (support) – 5.5″ support base. That is a high-density support foam that delivers excellent support and a solid foundation for the whole mattress.

The cover is a quilted organic cotton. It’s quite smooth, breathable, and includes a good textured feel, along with the embroidered portions especially. As well as the organic cotton, the cover is crafted using organic thistle. This is a natural flame retardant, which is a nice and unpredicted feature.
The cover is quilted as well as a 5/8″ level of foam. This mini foam coating provides extra softness and an excellent experience to the cover.
In 2016, Loom & Leaf made a change with their cover, affecting both aesthetics and functionality of the cover altogether. Loom & Leaf’s new cover includes a quilting pattern that’s tighter, smaller sized, and even more dense towards the center, and a bit more spread out towards the top and base of the mattress. This quilting style creates better support for your midsection.
A vast majority of sleepers need the majority of their support around their lower back and torso areas. This enhanced cover produces better support and assists sleepers provide better spinal alignment by having, even more, support where you will need it and just a little much less where you don’t.
From a standard aesthetic and style perspective, I believe the cover looks fabulous. The tan part panels and precious metal trim along the perimeter appear and feel luxurious. The handles on the medial side are also a good touch and make shifting the mattress easier.

Loom & Leaf has two different examples of firmness you can purchase. This review is founded on their flagship model, the Loom & Leaf Relaxed company. That is their “perfectly” firmness.
FAQ: What mattress firmness carry out I need?
The firmness level of the Loom & Leaf Relaxed Firm is a 5.5 out of 10 (where 10 may be the most company). If you are trying to search something a little firmer, you may also try the Loom & Leaf Firm, which can be an 8-8.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale. Having multiple firmness levels is a highly nice option, then one you don’t usually see with regards to online mattress companies.
Loom & Leaf firmness – 2 levels available. The luxury company, which is certainly 5.5 out of 10. And strong, which is usually 8-8.5 out of 10. (where 10 may be the most firm)
Up first, let’s discuss comfort. Many foam mattresses are usually made up of 3-4″ of specialty foam (foam, latex, Avena, etc.) and positioned along with a support foam bottom (which is a structural foam designed to offer support and a basis). The Loom & Leaf’s 6.5″ of foams and gels is unheard of practice. More specialty/comfort and ease foams outcomes in better overall convenience and better support as well (as there is, even more, material that can interact to transition various weights and body types into the even more supportive layers below).
When I first laid down on the loom and leaf mattress, there is an immediate softness. This is the consequence of the quilted cover which includes a 5/8″ foam layer. After immediately, the support layers start to sense your pressure and react accordingly. I’d describe the experience as very balanced. It doesn’t excessively hug the body like even more traditional foam, but there exists a nice amount of body contouring.
GUIDE: How to select a mattress
It was comfortable in every sleeping positions. Furthermore, the recently designed cover does an excellent job of fabricating nice support through the entire midsection.
General support was quite good. I slept on my belly, back, and side within my check of the Loom & Leaf. As a life-long abdomen sleeper, that’s usually my choice, but I experienced well supported in every three positions. Great pressure relief over the board.
There is practically no motion transfer. The thick ease and comfort foam layers + foam layers on best do congrats of dispersing energy and movement so that partners won’t disturb each other at night time.
Loom & Leaf mattress – King-size
Regarding cooling, I came across the Loom and Leaf mattress to be quite impressive, especially for a foam mattress. Loom and Leaf offer packed a whole lot of cool features and materials to greatly help manage heat issues, including:
- Breathable organic cotton cover
- Cooling gel pad, this cooling pad can be lamented at the top level of foam (see picture below)
- Plant-based foam is infused with gel
- Top coating uses convoluted foam, which includes air stations within the foam framework, permitting the mattress to breathe better

Who can purchase the Loom & Leaf mattress?
The Loom & Leaf mattress is an excellent option for every sleeper. It includes a balanced experience, there are multiple firmness amounts, great support, great body contouring, incredibly top quality components (including some organic/organic elements), and among the coolest foam/foam mattresses, I’ve examined to date.
I would suggest the Loom and Leaf mattress to sleepers who:
Want a moderate or firm experience – The Loom and Leaf come in both medium, 5.5 out of 10, and company, 8-8.5 out of 10, firmnesses. Many sleepers will be comfy on the medium edition (Loom and Leaf Calm Firm), but getting the firm version is a nice choice for heavier sleepers or those that prefer a company feel with just a little less hug and small less sinkage.
Want the foam experience – Loom & Leaf at its primary is a foam mattress. This implies more hug, even more contour, excellent pressure alleviation, and slower response. The quilted cover does provide Loom and Leaf even more of today’s take on foam, helping to balance the experience and depth of hug/contour. Having said that, you’ll still need to ensure you’re comfy on the experience of memory foam.
Need excellent cooling – The Loom and Leaf mattress packs solid cooling features, like the organic cotton cover, lamented gel level, convoluted foam, and gel foam. The mixture maintains the traditional high-density foam feel, but will an excellent job of coping with heat retention problems and keeping the sleeping surface area of the mattress comfy.
Want more natural components – The Loom and Leaf uses a natural cotton cover, organic thistle as the fire barrier, and plant-structured foams. It isn’t a 100% organic or all organic mattress, but Loom and Leaf will get the section of the method there with a few of their healthier and even more natural material components.
